Who is a disciple of Jesus Christ?
This is designed for everyone, but also for my two new friends at Prayer Works. You know who you are
All the people in all the world, meaning each and every human being who has ever drawn breath, always did and aways will have some faith believing in someone, or something beyond their selfish confession that they are the center of the universe.
Just to name a few… Buddhism, Hinduism, Atheist… ism, Mormonism, Jehovah Witness… ism, nothing…ism, my own power…ism, and Christian… ism, and there are so many more. Now the suffix “-ism” is used to create nouns that denote a distinctive practice, system, theory, or philosophy
- Some of all those seekers who are looking for some supreme being, have faith that there is someone, or something who is on top of the heap and who is therefore worthy of worship.
- And of all of them, some believe that that supreme being is the God spoken of in the Holy Bible.
- And of all of them, some believe that Jesus is the Son of God
- And of all of them, some repent, are baptized, and believe that God has sent His Holy spirit to dwell in every believer’s heart to teach them how to live like they really believe that.
- These are the ones who are willing to be made into one of Jesus’ disciples.
- Also, of all of them, some have studied, and leaned so as to become Jesus’s disciple, and are willing to spend as much time as is necessary to make a disciple of a new believer.
So… here’s a few questions for you today… Have you been discipled, or are you being discipled, or do you even know what that looks like.
This is where you would do yourself the greatest favor…Read – Matthew 28:19-20 because in those two verses, we see that there are three things that are instructions for all who truly believe that Jesus is the risen Son of God.
- Make disciples. 2.) Baptize them. 3.) Teach them
I have witnessed people who genuinely believe that Jesus is the risen Son of God who died for their sins, but little to nothing took place after they believed… sometimes they were not even baptized, let alone taught what Jesus meant when He said teach them…
So, whichever way you answered those few questions… Here are three answers
- If you have been discipled, were you discipled correctly? If you are not sure, go to your (solid in Christ believing pastor), and ask based on Matthw 7:7-8, (see below)
- If you have not been discipled, ask a solid true knowledgeable believer in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit to go out of his/her way to disciple you. If he or she is a true disciple of Jesus in the first place, he will be over-joyed to do that or turn you onto someone who will, and this scripture is for you also… Matthew 7:7-8, (see below)
- If you don’t know what being discipled looks like, trust in this scripture found in Matthew 7:7-8
- “Ask and it will be given you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened unto you. For everyone who asks received and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
NUFF SAID TILL NEXT TIME!
